Why Smart Success Packs are Imperative to Your Success

The Importance of Macronutrients And Protein

Macronutrients are key to overall fitness and longevity including the consistency with which you consume them. When it comes to macronutrients, fat and carbohydrates are forms of energy, and protein is information. Protein is the key information we need for protein synthesis muscle recovery, endurance, and more.  According to muscle-centric medicine doctor, Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, Americans need to worry less about being over fat and worry more about being under muscled.

In fact, if you were to go into a geriatric clinic and ask a doctor there what the number one concern was, you’d be told it’s that the patients are weak. This means lack of muscle and bone density. As you already know if you train The Smart Fit Method, making muscle takes ripping muscle (creating micro-tears) and rebuilding it. That takes protein—eating 1 gram of protein for every ideal pound body weight every day, according to Dr. Lyon. This can properly allow for repair and recovery from muscle damage from workouts, so we don’t lose muscle and lower health span as we age. 

So, we need protein. But most people can only consume an average max of about 30 grams of protein in one sitting. It’s hard to consume enough protein every day unless you are sitting around eating steaks for every meal. Therefore, we choose to supplement.
